Town of Hempstead Councilwoman Melissa Miller recognized Malverne author A T M Haidar Khan and his memoir The Silence Between Two Heartbeats in a formal letter dated September 2026.
In the letter, Miller described the memoir as “a powerful testament to the strength of a family bound together through fear, resilience, hope, and the unwavering love of a father.”
Miller represents the Town of Hempstead’s Third Councilmanic District, which includes Malverne, according to the Town’s official website. Her Town biography also describes a longstanding background in advocacy involving children and families facing complex medical conditions.
